Stampin Daisies Design Crew Creations

Hello!  Welcome to our first ever Stampin Daisies Design Crew Creation!  I am so excited and honored to be a part of this fabulous group of ladies--they are so talented!  You should have arrived here from our fearless leader, Monica of Stampin' Daisies.  If you missed her, please go back--her work and her first release of "Just the Basic's" is something you DO NOT want to miss!

I LOVE Monica's "Just the Basic's" stamp set for many reasons, but mainly because it is so basic.  I own two sets of stamps (GASP!!!) as I am just getting into stamping (I'm a scrapbooker who's been shown the light of being able to incorporate stamps into my layouts).  I cannot think of a better first set to own than this one!  It has all the bases covered, especially for a newbie like myself.

Here is my creation :)

I used my Stardust pen to sparkle the leaves a little :)

I LOVE it!  One of my favorite cards so far (remember, I'm not a natural like you!)  Now, please check out the rest of my fellow design teams creations and then go ORDER your set of "Just the Basics" HERE

Your next stop is the FABULOUS Jessica :)

New look & other 'stuff'

Hey everyone!

Happy Monday!  I can't believe the weekend went by so darn fast.  So...clearly my blog looks different, no?  That's because I had thee most fabulous Erica of The Fairy Blog Mother create this beauty.  I LOVE it!  Let me tell you, I am the biggest pain of a customer too...I know nothing about blog design (and very little about blogging altogether).  She was wonderful, helpful, and bless her heart--patient!

So, if you're in the market for something you can call your "own" (like I was) then I would highly recommend her.  A few kinks have to be worked out (i.e. I can't figure out why my new posts aren't showing up on the blog roll thingy--if you know  how to fix it, I'd really appreciate it), but otherwise it's good-to-go!  I wouldn't mind if you wanted to grab my button (does that sound dirty to anyone but me?) to put on your blog too :).

Also, a reminder that tomorrow starts our Stampin' Daisies Design Team creations, so make sure you check back to see what myself and my fellow fabulous designers come up with :).

Now it's time for some fun!

In honor of my new look, I'd love to give away some blog yummies!  One lucky winner, chosen via random.org, will receive a $20 gift 'card' to their favorite crafting store or website!!!  All you need to do is leave a comment telling me what ya think of my new look :)  You don't HAVE to be a follower but I would LOVE if you were!  I'll pick a winner on Friday, April 1 (and no, there won't be any April Fool's attached, ha!)  So spread the word, send your friends, and I hope to see you back real soon!

My Favorite Things Blog Hop!

Welcome to My Favorite Things Blog Hop hosted by Krystal of Krystal's Kreativity!  We are actually hopping for Krystal's 37th birthday (which is actually Monday) so please join me in wishing her the happiest birthday yet!!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY KRYSTAL!!!

If you have arrived here by way of Darlene, you're on the right track! If you just happened to stumble upon this hop, please be sure to start HERE so you don't miss any of the fantastic projects.

Krystal asked us to showcase some of our favorite things and boy was this difficult for me!  I have SO many.  For my project, I decided to create a cute little card for my husband that he can keep on his desk at work (plus, he's one of my favorite non-crafty things <3).  He is a VERY simple man so I couldn't go too crazy :)  So...here are some of my favorite things:

Favorite Thing 1: Pinks and Brown, especially together :)

Favorite Thing 2:  Glitter.  Who doesn't love a little sparkle?

Favorite Thing 3:  Pop-dots--so fun!

Favorite Thing 4:  Stamps! I am just starting to enter the stamping world and I love what it adds to cards and layouts!

Favorite Thing 5:  A finished product you LOVE!  Isn't that the best feeling? :)

I love how it turned out...and so does my hubs :)  And because it really doesn't matter how many paper-crafitng favs I have, my life would not be complete without these 3 MOST favoritest (yes, that is a word today) "things" in the WORLD!

Your next stop is Gayle!

P.S.  What do you think of my "new" blog?  Looks great huh?  Make sure to visit me tomorrow for a giveaway in honor of my new look :)

Music Blog Hop!

Welcome to the Music Blog Hop!  If you have arrived here by way of Jillian, you're on the right track! If you just happened to stumble upon this hop, please be sure to start HERE so you don't miss any of the wonderful project or tunage :) !

For my song, I chose "My Little Girl" by Tim McGraw.  Having two little girls of my own, this song is one of my (and my husband's) favs.  It makes me cry like a baby, pulls at the heart strings a bit but only because it's such a precious song.  Go ahead, listen!

I decided I wanted to create another layout, in which my 3 year old insisted she help.  The girls got craftin' in her blood! :)  So, I thought it'd be a great opportunity for us to create a page together and fitting, seeing as I planned it to be a page for her.  (I alternate between my girls pages so I can make sure I stay caught up!)

Truth be told, it didn't turn out exactly how I thought, but that's OK.  Lily LOVED every single moment, and cherished every little cut.  I really cherished our time together and watching her create was priceless.

We inked the edges of the photo mats with pink :)

I hope you enjoyed our project :)  Next stop.....Karen!

Rally the Troops

It's really easy to get caught up in the busy-ness of life  My daily to-do list grows exponentially and with two small children, even my "free time" isn't so free.  But, I really try hard to remember that while the laundry will never be caught up, the house will probably never be as tidy or organized as I'd like....my babies won't be that way for long, loved ones can't live forever, and time just won't stand still.

I'd like to ask something of each of you and I'm hoping you'll oblige.  I received this information from Shelley and it immediately touched my heart.  In the blogging world I've met so many kind, caring souls that love to craft and love to give.  Here's an opportunity to do exactly that:

Max Low is a 12 year old from Neola, Iowa. He has been battling cancer for half of his life. His doctors recently told his parents to enjoy the time they have left with him. His wish is to get 1 million cards. He has currently gotten about 23,000. If you would like to help Max get his wish, please send a get well card to the following address:

Mighty Max Low
C/O Greg & Bambi Low
PO Box 111
Neola, IA  51559
Let's rally the troops my dear blogger friends and help Max get his wish!  Re-post this on your blog, tell your friends, and start creating!  And....always remember to cherish the time you spend with your family and friends.

'Blog Lift'

Hey everyone!

I just wanted to let y'all know that I'm going to be doing a re-model on my blog :)  I'm so excited to have my very own design and cannot wait to share it with you!  However, this also means my blog might look a little wonky until it's complete.

Also-my web address/name has changed!  My NEW blog address is www.papercutcreations.blogspot.com  (for those of you that aren't followers, ahem :)  This one is easier to remember and not so lengthy!

Please bear with me during this transition, you won't be disappointed there will be a giveaway to celebrate my new look.  So stay tuned!  Thank you!

P.S.  I have lots of new projects to post, hopefully by Monday :)

Operation: Man Card in a House of Pink

Happy Thursday everyone!

So, Operation: Man Card was much more difficult than I anticipated.  It's kind of funny really because this card is as 'plain-jane' as they come so you'll probably laugh at the fact it took me so long to decide what to do!  (It's ok, I was laughing at myself!)

The card is for my brother-in-law who moved to AZ for work late last year.  I have pictures of my girls I need to send him so I thought it would be fun to whip up a card for him.  HA!  There wasn't much 'whippin' up' going on.  Let me just say that it is really hard for me to make a card with no 1) ribbon 2) sparkle 3) heck, anything related to girls!  I think it could have used twine or something, but I didn't have any on-hand so I just made do with what I could find at the moment.

Here it is:

The lighting is kind of wonky, but the colors all match perfectly.

I don't think it turned out *that* bad.  For my first Man-Card, I think it worked and if you knew my brother-in-law....the plain-ness (is that a word?) fits him perfectly.

I have another project almost done and it is so super cute (and really special)...hopefully I can post that later today :).

My First Blog Award!

Thanks Bren!

Oh my goodness, this week has just been full of crazy excitement for me!  The most recent 'YAY!' moment is that Bren from SimplyBren awarded me the Stylish Blog Award!  How sweet!  I was so excited that I just had to call my husband at work to tell him.  He didn't 'get' what the heck I was talking about so hopefully all of you can appreciate my joy with me.

I'm told I need to tell you 8 things about myself so here they are:
  • I am a stay-at-home mommy to two precious little ladies, Lily (almost 3) and Lauren (1).
  • Lily is our honeymoon souvenir :)
  • My favorite place to eat is Chipotle and I'd eat there every day if I could afford it (my pocket book and my waist).
  • We LOVE to dance in our house.  Our current tunage is Barney, The Laurie Berkner Band, and The Wiggles.  Pretty catchy tunes, I often find myself singing them to myself....all day.
  • I LOVE movies specifically dramas and comedies.  I could probably recite Forrest Gump and A Few Good Men, in my sleep.
  • I turn the big 3-OH this year :)
  • I am madly in love with my husband and my children.
  • Some of the best advice I've ever heard and try to live everyday, "be a best friend, tell the truth, overuse 'I love you', go to work, do your best, don't outsmart your common sense, never let your praying knees get lazy, and love like crazy..."  (Courtesy of Lee Bryce)
  • My first (fur) baby was Maggie, my boxer.  She is the sweetest, most lovable pain the butt ever! (Shhh...I know that was 9)
So there you have it!  I hope you enjoyed this mini "Meet Jenny!"  I'd also like to honor these fabulous ladies with this prestigious award :)  Please visit their blogs and show them some love!

Ashley's Scrappin Palace Bloggaversary Hop!

Welcome to Ashley's Scrappin Palace Bloggaversary Hop. I'm so excited to be participating in such a big milestone, Happy Bloggaversary Ashley!  If you have arrived here by way of Angela from Creative Crafting, you're on the right track! If you just happened to stumble upon this hop, please be sure to start here so you don't miss a thing!

Ashley asked that our project have a spring theme.  I don't know about you but I am TOTALLY ready for the several feet of snow in my background to go away!  Needless to say, I was an eager beaver to 'think spring!'
My project is the layout I created for Easter 2010.  My littlest lady was not even 8 weeks old (and it was her first holiday, *sniffle).  I LOVE how it turned out and hope you enjoy it too!

My apologies for the poor HORRIBLE lighting!  The colors all really do go well together, I swear!

Left Side; Mr. Bunny is popped-up and has pink stickles to make his cheeks sparkle :)

Right Side; in the upper right hand corner of Lily's picture is a white flower with a pink gem...super cute!  I think it really adds to the layout.

Your next stop is the wonderful Tracy!  Thanks for hoppin'!
