Mermaid Birthday!

Mermaid invites: CHECK!  Of the three different types of invites that were on my list, two down-one to go!  High five to self :)!

My oldest daughter is turning 4 {insert more sobbing here} in early March and her birthday theme request: Mermaids.  She was "Ariel" Mermaid for Halloween {red wig and all} so I guess it's her stage at the moment.  I don't have any of the Disney Princess Cartridges to create with, and from what I've read they take quite some time to assemble, so I went with Life's A Beach cartridge instead.

Super simple!  The picture doesn't really do it justice because the colors are so awesome together {blame it on the little sun we've seen lately!}.  I decided to print right on the patterned cardstock, instead of adding another layer, because I hated to cover it up, LOL!

Overall, I'm really pleased with how they turned out and the amount of time they took.  Thanks for stopping! :)

See you tomorrow!

Barnyard Banner!

Birthday prep is in full swing at my house, with two little girls that have birthdays just two weeks apart.  This makes for a very busy mama :)!  I just finished up the banner I made for my almost-2-year-old {insert sobbing here}.  You can check out the invites I made, HERE.

I could NOT find cow print patterned paper ANYWHERE!  So, I did the next best thing and drew the cow spots myself, LOL!  I did not inherit the drawing gene so I hope you can tell they are supposed to cow spots, HA!  At the very least, I hope the banner looks 'country!'

If anyone knows an easier way to capture better photos of banners, I 'd greatly appreciate the help!  They're tricky little buggers.  {It might be easier if we had a mantle, but since we don't (yet), this will have to do!}  Just click on the picture to see it up close and personal :)

Next up--cupcake toppers :)  See you tomorrow!

Birthday Wishes

Happy Sunday everyone!  I {big puffy heart} Sundays!  Church, relaxing with the family, football, good times I tell ya.  Anyway, I made my list of my craft to-do's {birthday cards and such} this morning.  I have a rather large list so I figured, no time better than the present to get started.

Here is the card I made for my Father-in-Law.  I have the BEST in-laws EVER, hands down.  {They don't read this blog so no, I'm not brown-nosing, ha!}  They have a little place on a golf resort that they practically live for in the summer so I thought this was a perfect card for him!

The sentiment is an EAD Designs Rub-On ....LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!

Of course I had to emboss and pop-dot the golf ball :)

Materials:
  •  Golf club/ball: Father's Day Seasonal Cartridge (3 1/4")
  • Brads-Recollection's
  • "Birthday Wishes" Rub-On-EAD Designs (Find them HERE)
  • All cardstock from my scrap bin (YAY!)

I'm entering this card into these challenges:

I hope you're enjoying your Sunday!

Happy Valentine's Day, Rock Princess Style!

It's time again for Scrappy Mom's Terrific Tuesday Challenge!  This week we're to use the Rock Princess cartridge, yay!  I love this cartridge but find I don't use it unless I'm creating something for my niece {she's 11}.

The cartridge seems to scream "TWEEN!" to me, LOL!  It only seemed fitting to create a Valentine for her for this challenge.  :)  {In July of last year I created a banner for her birthday with it as well, check it out HERE}.

She's a COMPLETE Lime Green NUT {and not so much into the pink} so I kept that in mind while making this.  It's also my first easel card, WOO-HOO!  Love them :)

The heart is on an Action Wobble, which you can now purchase from Scrappy Mom's!  YAY!

Materials:
  • Card Base-5x10 black cardstock
  • Heart Image-Rock Princess Cartridge (4 1/4")
  • Twine-Scrappy Mom's in Charcoal
  • Labels/Tags-Once Upon a Princess Cartridge (1 3/4" & 1 1/2")
  • Gems-I-rock jewels
  • PK Face Stamps- Happy Lashes

I'm entering this beauty in a couple challenges :)

Brush, Brush!!

I'm slowly, but surely, working my way through last years pictures, trying to get caught up in my layouts for 2011 {I said TRYING, LOL!}.
I think if I can stay only one year behind that's pretty good, no? :)

Here is single page layout I did for my daughter's first visit to the dentist.

I added a little bit of Stickles to the toothpaste, isn't it cute?!

I haven't decided if I'll color the tooth's tongue.  Do they have red tongues too? :)

I left this page pretty simple because the background paper seemed to get busy after I started messing with it.  Sometimes simple is best.  It's also the first time I used my Peachy Keen Stamps.  LOVE them!

Thanks for stoppin'!  See you tomorrow :)

Hey, hey!  It's FRIIII-DAY!  Woo-hoo!

My post for today is my submission for the EAD Designs Color Challenge.

Sweet-TTC Scrappy Moms

Hello lovelies!  This is my second post for the day ...I know, I know, don't fall off your chair :).  I wanted to jump in and create something for the Terrific Tuesday Challenge over at Scrappy Mom's.  I LOVE their stamps.  No, I don't have any {yet} but hey, us SAHM's are on a budget, he-he.  They DEFINITELY are on my I-really-want-please-buy-them-for-me-for-my-birthday-or-just-because list {you have one of those, right?}.

This week was a Cartoon Challenge!  The only cart that I have that would qualify for this challenge is the Pooh Font.  BUT, it does have a few (very cute) characters on it so I went with it.  :)

See you tomorrow!

Barnyard Bash, YEE-HAW

Happy Tuesday!  Birthday-Prep is in full force for me as both of my little girls have their big day coming up (and within two weeks of each other! Who's idea was that? HA!)  My big is turning 4 and my little, 2.  Where the heck does the time go?

I was able to knock out the first round of invitations this weekend.  The hardest part is deciding what 'theme' (or not) to go with.  My almost-4 year old has started giving her input but the little one probably doesn't care much, LOL!

I decided to go with the Barnyard Birthday theme for her because she LOVES animals, especially those from the farm.

The Post-It note is just to cover my personal information :)

I made the little farmer girl in three colors (YAY for using scraps!) and added a touch of bling for her buttons.  {Both of my girls love sparkle just their momma!}  I needed to make sure it was simple enough to mass produce (20 to be exact), yet cute.  I do believe I succeeded!

Everyday PaperDolls is my go-to cartridge for this project.  I see many more barnyard-based projects in my future {and then after that, we move on to Mermaids ;) }

See you soon!

Sunny Days Ahead

I think 2011 was a rough year for a lot of people, including myself.  I do believe, however, that sometimes things have to fall apart so better things can come together.  So ...in my effort to relay that message in my crafting, I created this card.  It's going to a dear friend, so I can hope that it gives her a smile and little glimpse into her future :).

I usually leave the inside of my cards empty because I like to leave my own little handwritten message but I decided to add a little somethin' for this one. :)

I used THESE rub-ons from EAD Designs!  LOVE THEM!

I'm so excited to be participating in my first DCWV Stack-aholic Challenge!  You can find all the details HERE.

I love this sketch!  It was really fun to re-create.

Here is my submission:

I added some dimension to all of my flowers.  It looks so cute!  I will journal on this page, as outlined in the sketch but I like to keep that as a special private message for my family. :)

Thanks for stopping!

Calling all Cheese-heads!

Hey everyone!  I'm back with the rest of my project from the sneak peek from the other day.  It was such a busy weekend as we had our last Christmas celebration with the rest of our family.  It was fun but it wore me right out!

I made this banner for a special little man.  He's a Packer-fan!  I live in Minnesota so by default I'm not a Packer fan (he-he); however, I'm not a Vikings fan either. :)

Banners are so hard to photograph!

I hope you have a fabulous Monday.  Remember that the E.A.D. Design Team Call ends tomorrow so make sure to get your submissions in!

Sneak Peek!

Here's a sneak peek of what I'll be posting very soon!  I'm almost done with it, but of course I need one more thing to finish it off and I'm out.  Oh darn!  I'll need to go shopping :)

See you back here real soon!

Happy Saturday :)

Christmas 2011

I know most people are putting away their Christmas craft supplies this time of year but I wanted to get my '2011 Christmas' layout done before I wrap it up for this holiday season.  We have a family Christmas album that holds just our Christmas memories so I like to scrap that year while it's still fresh in my mind.  Plus, I'm never behind for that album! :)

Here's my layout for 2011.  Sometimes I do a double and a single layout because we take SO many pictures at Christmas. But, this year I was able to really get a good group of highlight shots so a double layout worked!
Sorry about the lighting, for some reason this picture has a yellow-tint?

Here is a little closer look at each page.  I LOVE the bright colors!  The patterned paper is pretty busy so I tried to keep the page simple, but cute.

The ribbon on each photo mat is a felt-type ribbon that I found in the Christmas Clearance section for $0.59!  Love those bargains!

I also added a touch of sparkle using either Martha Stewart Glitter Glue (for the present) or DCWV Glitter paper (the white trim on the Santa hats and the ornament).

Please let me know if you'd like to know what materials I've used.  I never know if I should post them :).

Tomorrow I'll be back with a banner that any 'cheese-head' is sure to love :)
Thanks for stopping!

BABY

I created another 'Baby' card, this time for a little boy.  I suppose I better make some gender-neutral for those that like the surprise.  :)  It's obvious I like to keep my cards simple and crisp.  While there are many different techniques, etc. to card-making, I just don't get into the  water color aspect of it all.  They're beautiful, but not my style.

I promise, my pictures will get better soon!  :)

What's your style?

Bundle of Joy

I love creating anything baby-related. Who doesn't love babies, right? Their smell, their sounds, their innocence, their everything ... it melts my heart every time.  I know quite a few people that will be blessed with little miracles this year so I'm trying to get a jump on gifts and cards.

So simple, yet super cute!

Materials:
  • A2 size card
  • Cardstock (from my scraps)
  • Onesie- Creative Memories Stork Delivery
  • White Chalk- Creative Memories White Ink
  • Sentiment- 40:31 Creations
  • Ivory Ribbon (from my scraps)

Welcome to 2012

Hello 2012!  SO glad to see you :)

One of my goals for the new year is to make/send all homemade cards.  Scrap-booking is really my first love but I'm diggin' the response I get from my loved ones that receive my homemade goods.  They are filled with so much joy when they receive something that I put my blood, sweat, tears, {and love} into.

Here's my first project of the year!  I just LOVE how my little owl turned out.
Total CUTENESS!  I didn't put a sentiment inside the card because I typically like to write a little special note.  :)

Sorry for the weird angle, my easel was hiding.  (Also, on my list of goals -- figure out my camera, LOL!)
Materials:
  • Cardstock (from my scraps)
  • A2 size Card
  • Owl-Cricut Lite Hoot N' Holler
  • Balloon-Birthday Bash
  • Cuttlebug Embossing Folder (Happy Birthday)
  • Scrappy Mom's Bakers Twine  (Charcoal)
  • White Gelly Roll Pen
Hope your first day of 2012 is a great one!
